I would like to put nitrous on my truck how much and what rpm are you guys hitting it?

I am ok with the gas motor set up but some are telling me too early on a diesel and you "blow your flame out" is this true.

I have a edge attitude and ez stack, afe.

I was thinking a progressive system like on my viper but it works when wide open for a full sec. it starts 30% and ramps up. I am not sure if it would be needed on this diesel as my viper is getting 300hp shot. You really do not want that all at once trust me know for a reason.

Thanks,

Mike

ps crawler please pm me.

I would buy a bigger turbo before going to NOS.

Then you could enjoy the benefits with or without the NOS of increased HP over stock.

Nitrous is typically used once the "usual suspects" are already in place. Things like the boxes you mentioned, bigger injectors, turbo upgrades, exhaust, etc. Nitrous in a diesel will only yield HP if you have the fuel ALREADY present to burn it with. In your Viper, you are adding the fuel with the nitrous.

A 300hp shot into a Viper? You guys are really starting to scare me!! :D

On the diesel I agree with J. W, get the turbo and fuel first, then add some NOS.

Tell us what happens when you go too much nitrous all at once on a Viper!!

I think it was Hasselbach that has a SRT 10 Ram, and he was thinking about tweaking it to make sure his diesel doesn't end up quicker, I'm guessing with a Viper and 300hp worth of NOS you don't need to worry about that for a while?? :-laf

Ha, I didn't check his sig and see that quarter time. Yeah, he will have a hard time getting that oil-suckin' cummins into the low nines. :-laf

I bet it could be done though. $$$+time, time, time.

The best nos setups ive seen had a boost switch and a micro switch for control. Ive installed a few and i usually bring the juice in at full throttle(switch on gas pedal) and at 20 to 22 psi (boost switch in air intake). Spraying the stock turbo is a bad idea, they cannot handle it for any amount of time. Ive got a nice collection of shelled turbos including a jammer and the hard to destroy B1.

thanks

well that helps.

Time to back up and do some fuel upgrades and a turbo or two.

Dry nitrous scares me but I guess that is your only diesel option.

Can anyone tell me if injectors are out for my truck yet.

I will have the fass on the way before the end of the week unless there is something else you may recommend.

Any other info is appreciated I still want nitrous I love the stuff.

By the way a 300 hp shot all at once will break the 345 tires loose at 120 and I don't mean just spin I mean hold on we are going to die... . brake loose.

Well we didn't die but A progressive went on the next day!!

and pants were changed upon getting back home. Haha

Sorry to say I sold the viper last week someone had a great christmas gift and I am now kicking my self in the as@ and wishing I would have kept it.

thanks for the help

mike
