just talked to Matt on the phone about his system.....smart guy......

THINK ABOUT NOS

It's really not that expensive to fab a kit with some bottles, and some hose. If you already have the transmission built up, why not? Some like Jim Fuller (Mr. 7xx+ hp) claim they can see over 100 horses from it.

EVERYBODIES DOING IT, WHY NOT YOU?!?!

Heck, last I heard BillK was working up a 2 or 3 stage kit, maybe I should call him up.

Matt told me all about his set up on the phone. He says that self-control is the hardest part of it all right now. He is one WOT run from blowing the transmission, but he knows better.

Andrew;)

Matt,

All I can say is that truck of yours is sweet man what a difference with the twins, Nos, injectors and that camplate trick. I was impressed with the power as soon as the transmission fairy delivers you’ll be untouchable. I ordered up the same Nos system you bought I cant wait till this weekend. I did some research on the way you set up your Nos as far as I can figure, if you can get it to the ground you should get close to 200 hp boost. That is just unbelievable all this and cooler temps do to the inherent nature of Nos. I can’t wait to get your guidance this weekend on my Nos set up and the camplate trick.

As always Matt UDABOMB!!!!!

Your right Matt it's not the Prettiest set up... ... What did Piers call it again? Ah that technical stuff is beyond me... ...

If the fueling is right Nitrous will give you 150+ hp easy. The trick is having the right combination of "extra" fuel and the proper nitrous jettings.

The nitrous kit can be exspensive if you use a big solenoid and a progressive controller. And if possible get a brand that has lifetime warranty on their solenoids such as Nitrous Express.

Also for everyone thinking bout it, please remember that you'll experience increased cylinder presure with the nitrous, so in the back of your mind think head gasket.

Nitrous usually sells for $2. 50 to $4. 00 a lb depending on where you live... . so over time it can be exspensive.

Just some random thoughts about nitrous being "inexspensive" :D

Also I believe Bill K ditched his staged kit and went with the Diesel Dynamics kit.

Kat good points. those are all the ones i thought about when i decided against NOS.

I believe Bill is still running the two stages of NOS. i overheard Stefan explaining to someone what happend on one of Bill's pulls in Muncie. I was reading lips and maybe got it wrong, but i thought he told the guy one of the stages didnt fire and his dad had to turn it off and back on. it lit good after that, but he was about 40feet off the line already and his pull suffered from it. that truck runs hard!!

I believe they had too much nitrous too early and had a Flame out... ... and had to restart the engine 40' down the track, and still pulled 275'

It's single stage. NOS is often referred to as a 'turbo in a bottle' but it doesn't work without RPM. Bill hit the nitrous with reckless abandon before his RPM was high enough to support it. It nearly killed the motor. Once the rpm came up a bit he hit the button again and it lit.

I did the same thing at the track the next day. I couldn't get my H2E to come out of the hole, so I wired both of my nitrous stages to come on without boost. I nearly killed the motor on three separate passes before finally giving up on it. I only have enough nitrous for 17 HP (tiny solenoids) but that's enough to stall the motor at <1300 rpm.

Chris, can you even tell when it's on? LOL

17 H. P. :{ :{ :{

Hey look at it this way your bottle will last a LONG time..... :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf

:)

Your not kidding about the bottle lasting. I only filled the thing one time. When I first installed it, I used it all the time every day. We're talking 10-15 seconds per shot.

That was about 4 months ago. I haven't used up the bottle yet. :) When I turn it on, it still shoots to 900 psi with no heater, just like the day it was filled.

After dumping about $600 dollars I was sure mad about the 17HP, but now it's more of a joke than anything else.

I'll get a real solenoid someday and it should give me an easy 100 HP with the smoke I'm putting out.

But to answer your question, yes I CAN feel it come on. But it's subtle. I even had people ride with me to make sure I wasn't imagining it. They too could feel it. But just barely, and only if you pulse it on and off so you feel the minor surging.

:)

Chris,

YOU NEED MORE NOS!!! Dude, the power increase should be more than: "Did you feel it or not?"... . it needs to be like: "HOLY ---- !!... . yeah, it works!!"

"NOS" is kinda like "Kleenex" or "Crayons"... ... you use the terms interchangably with brand names, trademarks, and the real words that reference to actual objects.
