Went over to visit a friend who's going through chemotherapy. On the way back to the main highway a young guy in a 2000 or so Dodge starts riding my rear pretty close. When we get to the main road , I am going to turn left and the guy pulls out to my left and is going to try to get ahead of me. Nobody is coming so I roll through the stop sign in 3rd at about 7 or 8 mph and get on it pretty good. I'm nursing a weak head gasket but I took it up to about 40 lbs of boost in 4th,5th and 6th. Rolled off about 90 and drove into the feed store about 1 1/2 miles down the road to grab a soda. Kid pulls in behind me and comes inside. As I walk by he says " Sir, that truck hauls a$$". Told him it was stock and he laughed. Showed him the motor and talked transmission swaps and coyote hunting for a while. Just might be hope for this young generation after all.

Yes, Ron, there is hope for the younger generation. Had a kid the other day ask me where I got my gauges, and I told him. "Cool. " We talked a little, and went for rides in each other's rigs. Mine was a hair slower than his 00, but mine IS nearly stock :-laf. Told him I was having pump difficulties- it either smoked like a freight train, or I had to tighten the AFC to cut smoke and thus acceleration. Yup, there is hope after all.

Hey Ron it sure is fun to whip up on those nice shinny new pickups isnt it. I just love it when A guy says that his pickup is all that. Oh my chip will add 125 hp to a allready 230-300hp motor. All I say is you better pack a lunch and bring some cash. My pickup may not look like much, but it will flat out move. Yeah I know that some are faster than mine, but usually I know who to race and who not to. At least around my home town that is.

I surprised the bejeebers outta a TDR member who has a chiped 01 model. He didn't know a first generation truck would blow off the line like that. He had to know what was going on under there. Thing was, I wasn't even giving her the spurs.



I had a 24 valver pass me up on the Interstate last week. I let him get ahead for some distance and effect then pulled up along side. Gave him a look and smile then went on my way.



Happily there were no Troopers in the area to see me toy w/another Ram.

When you turn on the drug switch in your truck there are not a lot of rigs ANYWHERE that will beat you with that 520 HP! Oo. :) By the way, thanks for lunch the other day. Next time I want a ride in that truck with the switch turned on!
 
I thinks just the old body style that catch most people off guard, most of the time I have a few people around at one of my fuel stops I normally stop at, and they get a nice little display when I get back out on the road.



Hey Stomp what kind of inj. system are you running?

I dyno'd today and have some questions about what rpm your hp and torque peaks were at. My are both down low. 1800rpm for torque and 1950 for hp. Seems low to me, but what he heck do I know.

I am still running the old ve pump. You are talking about the injection pump arnt you?





RonA I believe that mine where quite a bit higher than yours, but I am at work so I dont have the dyno sheet in front of me. When I get back to the house I will let you know for sure. Just from a guess I think it was some where around 2100 rpms.

sorry about that I wasnt thinking what kind of water/meth system are you running Ive been thinking about it kicking a few ideas around
 
I am running the Snow Performance stage 2 water/meth system. It really does all that they say it will. It definatly dropes the egts down along with a serious kick of HP. Well between my propane and the water meth I got 100hp to the ground. I dont know how much either one of them did, because I only got to do 2 dyno runs, but I will be dynoing again and I will post how much they do and how much they do together.

Are you running a manual transmission? If you are, which transmission and clutch? Are they holding up?

How and when does the second stage of water/meth kick in?

Well I still have the getrag in it this is my second one. I am currently running a luc ceremetallic right now and it is holding up fine. We will just have to see how far I can push it when I get my twins on. everything seems to be holding up for now. If they go thats ok they will just be replaced with bigger and better parts.



The second stage of the water/meth comes on around 35# of boost.

Ok here is the skinny on my dyno sheet. On straight #2 Hp started peaking around 2000 rpm and the torque started around the same. With the drugs on they both came on around 2200 rpm's. Now the reason yours starts lower is the fact that you have a performance cam in your pickup. You also probably hold the power way longer than I can. What I mean is that you hold the power over a larger rpm range. I would like to eventually put a cam along with a modified head, but I will wait untill I get the twins in.
