A Diesel does NOT require a 14. 7:1 air/fuel ratio.
If a gasoline engine has too much air it can caue problems internally as it will operate TOO hot.

Are you serious? Is he really certified?? By whom?
So 60-70% of the diesels on the road today that operate efficiently are in poor operating condition (in his opinion)?
Yeah. Go ahead. Make it smoke if you like. You have a manual transmission!! By all means. Lug that sucker with out the afc connected. LOL That'll show him.

No smoke in a diesel means low EGT.

A virgin!!
You probably don't want loads of smoke at WOT... if you do you need more air.
But no smoke means it's time to do some tweakin'

Rebel Ram said:OK. Now I am confused. Figured I was finally getting this VE figured out. I thought the AFC pushed the cone down under boost in turn letting the pin ride into AFC chamber in turn more fuel.
Yes? No? Help!!!!

OKish said:hey guys, one of my buddies told me that it is bad that my truck does not smoke at all when its warm. i can get on it at full throttle and full boost and only a little grey puffs out. he told me that my EGT's are prolly really high from not enough fuel. is he right or wrong?
