i just got my truck back today, my KDP had came out as well and cracked my gear case pretty bad. a local friend charged me 200$ to fix it, he just removed all the same things you would to tab it, and cleaned it real well with brake cleaner then bent it back into place , did some grinding on the break point, and used JB Weld for the actual crack where it broke and then silicone along the edge of the gear case that had been pushed up. looks good and doesn't leak any, at least so far. Even if it did leak it would only be minor and i would bet anything this fix would last the life of the engine easy.



p. s. he found my pin when he was fishing around with a magnet for metal shavings. i'll try to post a pic of it, we'll see if you guys think it might have went through the gears! haha

Talked to the Service manager today at the dealers and I doesn't sound to promising. He said that he would contact Cummins to see what and how much they would participate in this fix. Like I don't know the answer to that one already. So, it looks like I'll be doing the work. Oh boy, fun will be had by all!
