Well... . they are cool the way they match the stock gauges and all, but the EGT gauge at night doesn't match the other two AT ALL!!!! The light is totally different, and is not only back-lit... . but lit all around the gauge. What gives?!?!?!

I decided that since no one matched the OEM gauges to my satisfaction I decided "to heck with it" and get what I like. I'm installing black-faced Autometers. Someday when Autometer comes out with a 40psi or higher boost gauge in their Cobalt or C2 line I'll be all over those babies!!!!!

The lighting is not good but I can deal with it. What really makes me mad is when the damn things fog up and it takes and hour with the lights on to cook the water out of them.

Mark,

I think I may have ordered my gauge from you, but can't recall now... . I called a few places and some didn't have them in stock.

There's two lights in the EGT gauge. One normal bulb, and then an LED that is part of the EGT connector in the back... . I'm wondering if I need to yank out the bulb, and just use the led... . this may calm down the lighting in that gauge. It's just too bright and front lit.

diode

Do you not hook up the lighting in the gauges to your diode that controls your dash lights? I would think that would help in the brightness dept. I do not know anything about this, but I assumed that is what you do.

Yes you can hook it up to the that circuit, but the other 2 gauges are lighted just fine. So if you lower the lighting all together, now the lighting is poor in the dash, and poor on the 2 gauges, and the EGT is okay... . not a good resolution.

Further, it's not just the brightness, the EGT gauge is FRONT LIT... . in other words, the whole gauge lights up. Where, on the other 2 gauges, they light just like the Dash lights... . BACK LIT only through the numbers... ...

Big mistake by Di-Pricol in my opinion... . not an acceptable mistake given the price they charge.

I am not sure if my pyro is the LED version or not. I've had it in for more than six months so it may not be. Is there an easy way to tell the diffrence by looking at the back of the gauge? If my fogging problem persists I may want to send this gauge back to DiPricole, anyone know where to find them? I don't see any point sending it back where I bought it from because it isn't the distributers fault. I'm about ready to give up and buy a box with digital gauges.

Not saying you guys are wrong, but consider the X-Monitor. These new trucks are so much more refined that they just seem to fit the truck very well. Again I'm not flaming any one for their choice in gauges but take a look at the X-monitor.

The X Monitor is cool, but I'm a big Analog gauge kind of guy... I really like the way these gauges match the rest of the gauges... . look OEM..... during the day anyhow.

Another question about gauges

How do the Phantom series gauges stack up to the DiPricole gauges? Does anyone have them, and any comments about them?

Also why do the fuel pressure gauges cost so much more than other gauges? IMLMWTK! I think I'll look more into the X Monitor also.

now Im concerned

a month ago all you heard was how great the DiPricols were .

All the gauges are cool, except the EGT gauge. The trans and boost gauges I have match exactly to my OEM gauges at night... . AWESOME gauges. But, then right next to them is this gawdy looking bright thing that looks way out of place... . AT NIGHT.

I do a lot of night driving so this is important to me.

Barbwire, I have phantom guages in my truck, look great in the day match pretty well but a night they do not change so they do not match too well, other than that they are pretty decent I ordered all three from Jegs for $252 shipped to my door. I have a couple lame pictures of them in my reader rig gallery.

Not to be contrary:) , but I really like my Di-Pricols. I have the 2 pod mount and the EGT gauge has the l. e. d. and the bulb. I have no problem with them at night. The light is brighter from the EGT gauge but I just dim them a bit.

I was impressed with the match with the factory gauges and they perform well. This is the first negative post I have seen on them.

oh yah.

I had phantoms in my old rig

did not like them

I still have the fuel press gauge

I didnt think I should sell it if it didnt work.

;)

lighting was good though

just my $. 02

"you can give me change if you like or take the whole $. 02"

im getting all worked up

my head is throbbing

my ears are turning red

knees are shaking
