they do but they probably just dont say what u want on them...

OKAY OKAY!!!!!

I yanked the LED wire on the EGT gauge, and now it's just using the bulb... Looks better now, and matchs the other two gauges. Only issue is that now the 8 on top is a little dark at night, but IT'LL DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like my Di-pricols... . I believe they match the 03' stock gauges better than any other product. Yes they messed up a little by making the EGT gauge brighter at night... . but IMO that is minor.

reflection

Has anyone that has the 3 A pillar gauges noticed if there is a reflection from them on the windows at night, that causes a visibility problem? I am not talking of having a problem seeing the gauges, but rather seeing out the windows, because of the lights from the gauges. :(

Now you guys have me confused. I don't see a diffrence between any of my gauges. All of them have a tremendous amount of white light leaking around the face at night. Is this just the old style or what's the deal? When I decide to add a fuel pressure gauge will I be able to get one that matches? I'll try to get a picture of my gauges in the dark tomarrow morning and post it so I can find out if you all are seeing the same thing I am.

I have no white light escaping around the light and there is a reflection from my top (egt) gauge at night, it is not a big deal for me. What I think we have to remember here is that these aftermarket products are made to add something to our trucks that the manufacturer neglected to incorporate into the original design, it is an add-on and was not supposed to be there in the first place. I think that Di-Prical and Geno's moulded a-pillar mount look as good or better than any other add-on, but that is a matter of personal taste.

What would really be nice is for D/C to put the gauges in the dash. I'll bet that if they did, many would complain about how small the speedometer and tach would be. Truth is, many CTD owners have no idea of what these gauges are or the functions that they monitor and, in reality, they are not absolutely necessary for the operation of our trucks.

While I understand your point about DC, that has little to do with the fact that we have spent 300 dollars on a guage package that is 'marginal' at best... . Great looking gauges during the day, but Di-Pricol needs to do some homework on their lighting... .

Being aftermarket products does not excuse poor quality. And neccessity does not dictate expectations of a large $$$ purchase.

I would agree that they are not perfect (what is?), but I would hardly call them poor quality :) Just a matter of personal taste and opinion, that's what makes the world go round.

I would be interested to know if there are any gauges out there that match the oem's better. I waited nearly a year before I found something that I could live with.

I have had gauges on all of my diesels. I had the frog eyed 3 pod monster on my 94 (awful)and the combo gauge (terrible) on my 98. 5. I don't care for digital gauges and this was the best set-up that I could come up with, if you find something better, let us know. I doubt that I would switch, but I will be happy for you:) .

I want/need gauges badly, but have not been able to make up my mind what to get. I really like the looks of the gauges on the A-pillar. But this post has convinced me that there is not a product out there that matches properly (at least at night). There is no way I'm going to spend $300 on a product that doesn't match. Especially one where the EGT doesn't match the other two guages. I'm now leaning more towards the XMonitor... . that is unless someone on this thread comes up with a product that matches up to factory.

While they do not match the OEM COLOR, there are better gauges. VDO Vision gauges by far exceed the lighting quality of Dipricols. I had the VDO's on my last diesel and was very happy with them. Unfortunately I don't think they offer a white face... . other than color, they would be a perfect match and again, the lighting quality was as good as OEM... . possibly because VDO is an OEM Big 3 supplier.

This is a picture of the egt gauge at night from CATCRACKER's album:

i had some vdo vision series on my 6. 5td tahoe when i had it . i had 2x vacuum to moniter the pump & the egr malfunction, and a 15psi boost. the lighting was great [i had green socks on them] and my only complaint about them was the boost gauge rattling at low boost, but i didn't have a snubber at the gauge and i ran a 1/4"od nylon line to the gauge. if i could get them white faced to match the oem dodge in daytime, that would be great, but the black face gauges with a teal bulb sock would match pretty good at night...

i have a few pictures of my vdo gauges in my sig somwhere...

but for my 04 i think i might go with the ultralite autometers in 2 5/8" 0-35 boost & pyro mounted in cups on top of the dash... gotta do something to fit in with the ricers around here :-laf

I don't want to beat this to death, but I was out last night and I played around with the dimmer and really checked mine out and I am at a loss to find fault with the Di-Pricols.

I think others must have a different style than Fireman and I do. They match the factory ones nearly perfectly day and night. The egt gauge is a bit brighter than the boost gauge, but not enough for me to complain about and I am pretty picky;) , just ask my wife:) .

Dean,

I'm with you. I got the 04 truck and the Diprocols match day and night, no problems. I got no noise coming from any of the gauges, but I think that may be helped by tie wrapping the lines securely, giving them no room to move. I did allow some movement at the engine side connections, for the normal twisting and shaking of the engine. Done again, I would probably add the green socks to the regular bulbs that are in them, but it's really not an issue of standing out enough for me to remove them and do it on these. Catcrackers pic above is right on.

So basically I'm going to be SOL if I go try to find a fuel pressure gauge that matches the old style gauges I already have? I feel like the guy with the first 6. 0 that has all the problems. Why would they release these things until they've got them right?
