Not impressed with AFE megacannon

Decided to buy an AFE megacannon pg7 intake for hopefully the best filtration and flow. The kit is #75-11342 that fits both 5. 9 & the 6. 7 motors. For the price of the intake I was expecting A little better quality. These are my dislikes-



1. Had to grind off about 1/8 inch of tube at turbo to keep tube from rubbing oil filter. (still only 1/8 inch away from oil filter)-very tight.



2. There are 2 ports you dont use on the 5. 9-one they send a nice metal cover with gaket-but the other one-near turbo, they send a pos plastic plug that fits like crap-will try to find something better.



3. The intake air sensor port is to big on the 5. 9 so they send a cheap stick on foam gasket-hope un-filtered air won't leak here.

That sucks man... when are they going to learn that these enthusiast parts are sold to enthusiasts? super suck!!!

I just got an AFE system for my truck. Closed box as oppossed to the megacannon. The kits are not the same for 5. 9 and 6. 7. The first kit i received was for a 6. 7 the tube does not work for the 5. 9. Only one air sensor and a flat spot to clear oil filter for the 5. 9. 6. 7 tube has I belive three holes in it and no flat spot to clear oil filter. I oredered direct from them and was overnighted out the correct tube after talking to the rep. An honest mistake and it was taken care of at no cost to me. I feel its nicely made stuff you just got the wrong part. The proper piece fits in nicely, with the flat spot to clear the filter. My advice would be before doing anything to the 6. 7 tube is put a call and see if you can get the 5. 9 tube. I've noticed better acceleration after install.

This intake fits both 5. 9 & 6. 7 -This may be the problem, A combo unit that may not fit either one just right.
