Issue 37: Got yours yet?

Why do I get logged off in the middle of a browsing session? This has been happening 2 or 3 times a session for the last 2 weeks and I have to log back on. It drops me mostly when I try to reply to a post.

TIA

John

Here too. Just started after the last big crash a couple weekends ago. Before that had been working fine for months.

I'm searching on the support site to see if there's anything on this one. In the past the only thing I've been able to find is that you are only allowed so many cookies of the type that vBulletin uses and if you are browsing a lot of other sites at the same time then you can get logged off. One thing you may try doing for now is delete any cookies on your machine related to the TDR site. You can find the instructions on how to do that in the FAQ at the top of the forums - here's a link https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/misc.php?s=&action=faq&page=1#clearcookies . You'd want to delete all those that have turbodieselregister.com tdr1.com or 216. 235. 147. 116 on them. Then log back in and see if it helps. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Well, they have some new info up since the last time I was on there and they have a new release of vBulletin - 2. 2. 7 that some webmasters are reporting has taken care of most of their login issues. I'm downloading it right now and am going to try to get it up and running this afternoon on the site. It will take me a while because of all the hacks that I have installed on the site that I will have to transfer over to the new software. You may have some trouble as I'm making the switch so don't be surprised if you have some trouble for the next couple of hours.

The update to 2. 2. 7 is finished. The forums were down for about 5 minutes from 4:50 to 4:55 pm eastern time. You may still need to delete your cookies manually and relogin because you may have corrupted cookies. Please let me know if you have any problems.

There was a problem with 2. 2. 7 that crashed the server so I have had to roll it back to 2. 2. 6 for now. Do try to delete the cookies and see what happens. I'm still going to try to upgrade to 2. 2. 7 but I'll have to figure out what the problem was first.
