Gald to hear youre relatively OK PJ.

I saw an accident a few weeks ago. Chebbie S-10 Vs Autocar dump truck. It was not pretty. Dont know if the s-10 owner made it.

Just goes to show, when you walk out the door, you dont really know if you're coming back.....

Papa Joe, time to call Dave Smith Motors and order a new truck! Glad you're okay, we'd like to have you at a future NW gathering.
Just curious about a few things: How fast were you and the Chevy going? What happened to the Chevy driver? Can you post a picture of your truck? I'd like to see how smashed up our trucks can get while still protecting the people inside.
Where I was living last year, I had to commute home late at night on two lane highways. There are many crosses along the shoulders of the roads, and the area is notorious for drunk drivers and head-on collisions. Even though my commute was 120+ miles a day round trip, I decided not to buy an economy car and keep driving my truck, for this reason.
Get well soon!

jeez--if you can't wear it out, destroy it early! #ad
... . glad you're still functional, and can type... had one sprained ankle 11 mos ago and it sucked!. . Physical therapy really does help

Glad to hear that you OK Papa Joe. The same thing happened to a friend of mine Wednesday night. He was towing his tractor up to a friends house with his 99 3500. A guy in a Honda Accord was fooling with his CD player and crossed over the line. My friend swerved to miss and still took a hit. All the way down the side. It sheared the rear axle at the pumpkin and sent it flying a 100 yards away, all in one piece. He had to unload the tractor to pick up the axle with the bucket to set it in the back of the truck. If he hadn't swerved to miss the Honda, there is little doubt that the guy would have died.

Papa Joe,

Shocked to here about your accident! Thankfully the Lord was looking out for you! Not your time, you must have something special to accomplish yet, sure make a guy think about what is important in life, doesn't it? I'll give you a call tomorrow and see if there is anything I can help you with.

I guess the BOMBing trip at Rob's on the 17th of February is out of the question.

Take care my friend, Bob

Papa Joe, glad to hear you're still with us.
I'm beginning to like all of you guys. When the Good Lord says come forth, he doesn't mean fifth! It just wasn't your turn.
I am a volunteer fireman and I go on these wrecks all the time, all the autos are designed to absorb energy as they collide, thats why they always look so bad afterwards, anyway Papajoe, start thinkin about what you want in a new truck and get well soon ,were thinkin of ya

Papa Joe, I'm glad to hear you are OK. #ad

Get well soon... and no spying those Duramax Diesels. #ad

Papa Joe,
It's great to hear you came out in one piece. After living through something like that you have a whole new perspective. Trucks are things that can be replaced, people can't. Take care of yourself and the Missus.
To heck with the new truck. Find ya a good 12 valver. You won't be disappointed #ad

Joe, its obvious by your posts that your a good man. Glad your still around, we are wishing you and yours a speedy recovery.

Glad to hear that you're doing okay. Hope you heal soon. I'm sure it won't be long 'till you're back in the saddle.

BTW, I want to take this opportunity to expound upon something Whitmore brought up. Seeing those wrecks, one thing. Being part of those wrecks (unable to disentangle), something completely different. SEAT BELTS, SEAT BELTS, SEAT BELTS!!!

Hey Papa glad to hear your okay #ad

Now with a bit of luck you'll be able to find a good low miler 12 valve, then you'll end up with something better than what you started with #ad
I'd sell ya mine, even put new tires on it, but it's been sold to a fellow in New Hampshire #ad

Pappa Joe. Sorry you had a major accident but am happy you came out of it half way decent. You no doubt will find muscles and sore places you never even knew you had. Makes you want to put a cow catcher from the old steam engines up front.
I got pasted by a drunk in 1969. I was driving a VW bus and have never, never, never driven or ridden in a piddly little rig since.

Glad you had the pile driving ram engine!!!

Wishing you the best of luck.

Papa Joe,

Sorry about your truck, Glad you didnt' get hurt too seriously. Still waitn' to hear what happened to the other guy.

Mick
