i have had the mystery switch on my truck for about 2 months now and all of a sudden the TC wont stay locked on the highway if i push more than like 20-25 psi of boost, also it does not lock as quickly if i flip it when racing which i only did when racing someone, other than that i would only flip it after the TC had normally locked. any help would be great thanks

i think really its unlocking because it doesent grab again if i let off im going to check all my connections make sure they are all tight

If a 47RH trans torque convertor clutch does not grab again if you let off and push the pedal again, the clutch is shot. It is probably getting so hot from slipping that it can't grab again. My personal experience with transgo kits is that they are junk.

I think the original purpose of the "mystery switch" was for quick shifting like you are doing but it was soon found out that it destroys TC clutches.

It is a good tool when used to keep the TC locked for exhaust brake applications or to be able to unlock it under certiain conditions but snapping it in under full load is not good.

Talk to a good rebuilder and find out what needs to be done but I wouldn't drive it any more. You probably have burnt clutch material surging through it's veins already.

Wanna know what happens when TC clutch material plugs passages and reeks havok on clutches... ...

That's my work... . it was fun while it lasted.

Yes I used my TC lock-up switch like you did. I recommend talking to a good rebuilder... I used Goerends, I like smooth shifts with double pressures, myself. Great converter... . anyway... . just my opinion. Other guys will say ATS, others DTT. Bang for the buck... it's your choice.

ps. Duluth Diesel posted the pics for me... I couldn't shrink them.

i was told that i cant install a DTT, ATS, or similar high locking strength TC on a stock transmission thats it just to much and would tear it apart is this true?

If your going through the trouble to pull the transmission to install a good converter. Just go through the transmission at the same time. It's cheep insurance, and the valve body is well worth it. Putting a Good converter in with out upping the pressures would do you no good anyway. You'd just damage a much more expensive converter.

If you are going to drive the truck hard there is no way to get around spending a lot of money on the trans.

Going cheap results in spending the money in dribbles and walking a lot. You end up with junk. Doing it right saves on shoe leather and keeps you happy.
