Competition Roll call for all diesel class in atlanta

Competition unreal eighth mile times

My son and his friend (Cheby with lift kit and 35's) decided to go muddin' yesterday and asked me if I would tag along to pull them out in case they got stuck. They did get stuck and, after yanking them out, I guess the mud just looked a little too tempting... just thought I'd share a couple observations.

1. Diesels are great mudders from the standpoint of lacking an ignition system. The Cheby stalled a couple times when it got wet.

2. My once spotless engine compartment will never be the same. You couldn't have used a commercial blower and gotten better mud coverage.

3. The psychotty system isn't the best for these acitivties... see observation #2.

4. Air horns that are packed with mud sound very bad.

5. Avoid any invitations to tag along with your son and his friends.

P. S. I have this on video if anyone would like to see some mud slinging...

Vaman, that truck pull video was the funniest thing I've seen in awhile. Had to watch it three times and it was just as funny each time.

Good job on all the videos. They were nice and clear.

Vaman: Nice vids.

Back when my truck was about a month old, I got it stuck up to the axels in Wyoming mud. After trying to get out for over a hour I had to call a 4x4 tow truck. I spent over an hour cleaning the truck with a pressure washer. Seven years later I still get clumps of mud falling down from under the truck when the roads are wet. You'll be amazed at all the little 'voids' under your truck where mud can hide for years!

The Chevy bottomed out in the ruts and hung up somewhere in the drivetrain/frame/skid plate. Glad you all enjoyed the vids.

Where the Mud and Salt

I sure doen't miss the road salt and seeing rust buckets like where I grew up in North Central Pa. The salt hides even better than mud and a lot worse on the rig... ...

The truck in the pulling video looks like an 89 or so Ford. It's a small picture so I'm not positive.

As much as I like wheeling I do hate washing after. Try a lawn sprinkler under the truck for a while to get the heavy mud off.
