My Power Steering pump has been replaced recently after suffering a broken pulley shaft at about 63K miles. There was some metal in the oil after pump replacement so I don't think it was flushed when it was replaced. As a result, there is a pronounced "notch" or stiction in the brake pedal whenever I hit the brakes now. I had the PS flushed today (after 60 miles on the new pump as that is where the closest dealer is) and the notch is still there. My question is: what in the hydroboost would cause this kind of symptom and will it cause issues in the next 2000 miles? Also, how sensitive is the steering box to shiny fluid going through it?

I do have to say that my gold warranty worked perfectly and everything got covered with no cost to me but it appears that collateral damage may drag this out longer than I want it to.
