My Truck just started doing this. I hit the on ramp in busy traffic and was surprised when I had no GO in forth gear. got up to sixty mph really well, but it acted like a severe defuel after that. Shifted to fifth and peddled as hard as normal until about 2K or 70mph and then nothing :{ . Engine used to have excellent power up to about 2500rpm but not now. Could a broken governor spring cause this? Sound like I just need to get a 3K GSK. What do you think. and where can I get the best price on the things.

Broken spring? I don't think so, they are pretty hefty. I'd find and fix the problem before I start changing things.

Defueling? Perhaps restricted fuel supply.

Check your intercooler boots for tears. Facing the truck on the left, check with your hands and rub your fingers around the boot especially where the boot rubs the body.

I have excelent boost. 27psi. I have all new boost fittings. that was the first thing i checked. I have 7-15psi fuel pressure, depending on rpm. new fuel filter, and strainer. everything checks out. and I have excelent fuel economy, almost 19MPG.

After I installed my GSK, I only had 2000 RPM's max, I still had good boost also. WHat caused my problem was that I had broken the hard plastic boost line that goes from the manifold to the AFC housing. This was limiting my RPM's and my fueling. May not be your problem, but worth a quick check.

You should have twice that fuel pressure. 17-22 PSI at idle, 25+ at 2000 RPM. Check and make sure the fuel shutdown selenoid linkage is adjusted properly. If thats OK check the overflow valve next. If thats OK, lift pump probably needs replaced.

I once had the same symptom you described. turned out to be a broken line from the AFC housing to the turbo waste gate.

Let us know what you find.

This evening I took my overflow valve apart. took the spring out and stretched it out quite a bit. almost 7/8 of an inch. that seemed to help the problem alot. have good power again and acceleration all the way to 2800rpm, but i seem to loose alot of that hold you back in the seat power after about 2300 rpm. I think its time for GSK. :D

That spring should be . 550* max in length. And do watch how the ball is put back in, it can only go one way. At least mine will only go one way. These guys are giving good advice, and there are so many things that can contribute to your problems.
