The GREAT N.E. SEAFOOD WRENCH DAY

Surf Fishing Gathering - Outer Banks (Buxton), NC

Well, Andrew can tell you about as much as I can... Not too much... we had left to go eat dinner, and were told that we could get back in the pits with the Diesel Innovations Guys... Well, we get back, and they told us that NO, we had to park in spectator parking, and had to pay another $3 to get back with the rest of the group... On top of that, some older security man, which turned out to be Dumb as a box of rocks from the comment he made to me, saying "You Dont need to be over here, You can't drag race no damn Diesel!"   Obviously he did not know there was a Diesel Class running. After turning around, and fogging the security gaurd with a little raw fuel, we got back on the other side, and by the time we parked we saw like maybe 5 or 6 races at the most. . I was really disappointed in how the people out there run that place. It may just be the security, but still. I dont think I'll be going out there again! So, Curtis, Andrew wont have anymore info than Strick-9; we got most of ours from Hear-Say.

Yeah Nowel might have ran a 15 second run, but it was at 110mph. The old transmission had a MUCH different take off technique, and it was the first time this transmission ran, so they thought "if it worked on that one, let's do it with this one". They never ended up letting him run again, but the race officals kinda kicked the diesels to the side anyways.

Chris S. , I do know that they were cutting checks for the diesels, some I know got paid. Contact David Lott if your friend never got paid. Great seeing you again, hope you get your truck back together.

Yanker Boy,

I want those pics!

Daniel,

Great seeing you agian!

Andrew

I guess I should have written more clearly about the payouts being dropped.

I meant the payouts were reduced from $1500 to $2000 for the winnners down to $200, $100, $75 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each class respectively.

But that's pretty normal in drag racing. Advertise an enormous purse to convince people to race then tell them how tight things are and reduce it down once racing begins.

-Chris

WOO-HOO

Lets do it again.

Except NOT when it's in the upper 30's.

When the diesels get a little more respect

When Strick-9 isn't broke,

and when I know the gates open at 9am instead of thinking they opened at 4pm.

I think the funnest part was driving from the dragstrip to the hotels,, then giving people rides in my truck,, spinning some donuts on an empty road,, then 10 minutes later while standing in the doorway of a hotel room watch two Police Cruisers stop in front of your room, hit the spotlight straight into face, then just tell you that yall are making alot of noise, and to go to bed,, WHEW, thought I was busted for sure.

Hehe, Nice to meet all of yall,

Merrick Cummings Jr

P. S. Anybody have an internet address to see what some of the Ford boys are saying,, Diesel Innovations, etc. ?

Ain't that the truth! Be nice to have it the other way for a change! "Oh, we had twice as many people, so the pay out is doubled!"

Did we forget

My buddy ran a 13. 9 at 96 in the 14 class with his red 2001 HO. The best I could run was a 14. 4, I couldn't get any traction in 4wd, best 60' was 2. 01. I'm not going again unless it's all diesel and no gassers. At lest I won 2nd in the 14 class.

MARKS??? HOW ABOUT BLACKENED ROAD!!   All the guy I could say was holy *****!! He did not believe a 1 ton could get hopping like that!! Anyways, did you happen to burn out in that parking lot right there as well?? it looks as if you did and went off the curb, but want to confirm it before I go bragging to all the other weenie wannabe diesel guys around this town. Anyways, I will take the pics tomorrow, and post them ASAP!!!!!:D

-Chris-

I did the circles in the street, and I spun the tires everytime coming out of the hotel, but unlike I do here in Laredo, I didn't hit the curb up there,, so if some marks hit the curb, I don't think they are mine :D .

Post 'em quick :D :D

I'm heading down town to check out the evidence tomorrow, I've been told it's worth checking out.

Well, I have the pics, but they are too large to post on here, so PM me, or IM me on AIM@ CMH379xh... ... ... Would be more than happy to send out!

Hey, give 'em to the artist too. :D -- email address removed --

I would like to thank Michelin Tire Company, South Bend Clutch to Hold the power, Diesel Dynamics and Diesel Transmission Technology for the injectors, Power Edge for a Kick-butt box, Autometer to know what's goin' on under the Hood, ATS for the awesome 3-Piece exhaust manifold, Piers for his Modified HX-40, Advanced Diesel Technology for the lift pump setup, EGR Brakes for helpin' me slow this chariot down, Blumenthals for the NV5600 and conversion kit, and last, but not least, Cummins for making it possible to put out this kinda power with a motor that, except a "box", Injectors, and turbo is COMPLETELY Stock with 108,900 miles on it.

Panasonic, Eclipse, Kicker, Precision Power, Toby, and APC for the times when I ain't puttin' 457HP down, or puttin' my signature ON the streets.

:D
