Nova Scotia Trip

Hi Gang, I need some info. I want to leave at the end of Sept for Nova Scota, I live in Kansas. I would like to know what to expect in the way of weather and the suggested routes from Kansas ?We be driving a 99 Dodge Diesel 4x4 long bed with slide in camper. What should we see alonfg the way? We plan to travel down the East Coast on the way Back? Thanks for your Info ...

Work your way over to New York State crossing in such a manner to avoid the souther New England States. If your going to come down the east coast you will get your fill anyway.



I like doing a land/sea route for visiting Nova Scotia. Drive up Route 1 in Maine once you get above Freeport, maybe stop at Arcadia National Park. Get in New Brunswick, Canada and if nothing else, see Fundy National Park if nothing else. Leave Nova Scotia via ferry for Bar Harbor or Portland, Maine for the return trip.



The end of Sept weather wise should not be to bad. Maybe take along a wool sweater and a turtleneck or two and a windbreaker.

Biggest problem with fuel is it will get more expensive as you continue north. Buy from the truckstops same as anywhere. Thinking about it, I have not been in Canada for near ten years now. Used to cross the border three-four maybe up to twenty times a week. Might want to ask about the border crossing status these days. Another thing was your vehicle insurance card. Used to be, Canada did not actually have to accept your standard auto insurance card. You needed what I remember being referred to as a "yellow card". Most people never bothered but if push came to shove, well get your wallet out.



What do you like to do and see mostly? Also, how far south down the east coast you going to go? Maybe I can suggest some other spots.
