New style LP Hoses and Adapters

broke down 40 miles N of Las Vegas, NV

I'm takeing my new truck, and new to me slidein camper on it's maiden voyage in the next few days. I'm going to head to Nova Scotia. I want to see the 50ft. tides they talk about. Anybody been there or live near there that could give me some advice. I'm thinking of going over on the ferry from Bar Hardor. Thanks in advance

Tim

t. allen i was born in n. s, and lived there until 1977. digby was my home town. its on the annapolis basin. there is a ferry from digby to saint john new brunswick. the tides in the bay of fundy are the highest in the world. the rise and fall in some places is as much as 50 feet!!if you come on the bar hahbour ferry and land at yarmouth n. s. go to digby and proceed up the annapolis valley. it will take you up to cape blomodon. there is a nice provincial camp ground there overlooking the valley. at hansport and windsor you can see the high tides at work . at annapolis there is a tidal power station . two other things that are must see ,are the south shore and the cabot trail on cape breton island. when in cape breton be sure to stop in baddeck home of alexander grambell, there is a museum there with many of his inventsions, including the silver dart first aircraft to fly in canada. hope you have a nice trip. :) :)

Take the ferry from either Bar Harbour or Portland, check out Nova Scotia then drive back to the states via New Brunswick. While in the Bar Harbour area, why not check out Acadia National Park although it will be crowded this time of year. Fundy National Park in New Brunswick is one of Canada's crown jewel parks. I highly recomend it even over Acadia due to the crowds. There is camping close by. Grand Manan Island off the coast of Maine/New Brunswick was like Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard may have been like 40 or 50 years ago. About the only thing I found lacking in the Atlantic Provinces was the bland food. Maybe that's changed in the ten years since I was up there.

Tim, You are going at a good time of year. We did a 20 day carivan with Presidents club about 8 years ago and we still talk about it now. If you have the time, go to PEI. Go one way by boat and the other by bridge. The Gov parks are great and cheap. Most on the water. We had a 92 350 and our Lance 945. The Ford made the trip and the Lance is still part of the family. We have done two Maritime trips and look forward to the next one. Best place to travel for the dollar. That was backthan. Have a great time. Rob

Here is the CAT ferry coming in last Wed from Nova Scotia. I think they want about $150 one way for car and passenger.

Nova Scotic Trip

This is a great trip for the money spent. One suggestion that will help to make your trip more enjoyable is to get Doers & Dreamers book, its free from the chamber of comerce and many other locations in Nova Scotic.

the suggestions from FourBarR is right on.

I travel all over New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI to the tune of 4200 miles a month.

Must sees are Bay of Fundy tide, Cabot Trail, South shore of NS, Confederation Bridge, Fundy Park in NB

Have fun.

I just got back from our trip and everything went well. The truck has power to spare with the Lance on it. Nova Scotia is an amazing place. We left upstate NY and went to Bar Harbor. We stayed in Blackwoods, or Blackwater I don't remember which campgrounds in the Acadia Park. While there I saw a TDR member leave in a green 2nd gen. truck. We took the Cat. ferry to Yarmouth. ($440 with the truck and 2 of us) We went up the Annapolis Valley and all around Cape Briton, up to Mounton, and over through Maine and home. I left alot out, but it was a great trip for the first outing. We are going back next year for 2 or 3 weeks. Thanks guys for all the tips.

Hope you made it around the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton!!!!

Newfoundland offers a great adventure as well.
