Now It Is My Turn

I just returned from a trip to Phoenix (Lake Charles to Phoenix) and on the way I ended my warrentee with DC. I now have an 89% t/c, valve body, uprate this and everything else, plus the Smart Controller and an SPA boost/EGT gauge. And this was all supplied from Bill k. , a. k. a. DTT.



I made this choice based on the main fact that my truck does not have enough power to go up the big ones locked up. CAnderson moans about the t/c unlocking, well I just love it. I can hit the bottom of a hill at 60 mph, push the pedle down to 80% or so; shortly there-after it unlocks and I go over the hill without down shifting. That is 3rd and GV, unlocked. This locked to lock scares me; so I would rather go over the hill in fuild Coupling.



I knew that Bill K. was "with it", but his Smart Controller is just great. It seemed that I had to stop at every rest area but then, it wasn't all that bad. I't hit the in-ramp at 55 in 3rd with the PAC BRAKE howling and just as I get up to all those people staring at that noisy Dodge pulling that very large 5er, and I down shift to 2nd and locked. Sounds like a Perterbuilt with a sore throat. Kinda makes you horny or something.



It is a great combination. This is the first time I have towed with the Edge EZ and AFE Mega Cannon. You can have my wife, table saw or sander, but don't mess with the truck!! I have some more interesting posts later; one smoking a powerstroke!!

I just made my first tow with the DTT VB and Comp box, it was great.



Question:

How did you decide on the 89% vs. the 91%? I will be getting the TC soon and I'm sure Bill K. will steer me in the right direction but wanted to know from you. I was thinking the 91. My truck is a daily driver and to tow my TT. Who did your install?

TOM: The reason I went with the 89% t/c is a. That is what Bill K. recommended. 2. Stefan said on one of his posts way back that he was considering going to it; and I think the big deal for me was the fact that I do not have that much power in relation to some others, and it really needs a little slippage to allow the turbo to spool up.



BATMAN: I thought I'd have to give a neighbor cpr last enveing going to Church; doing just what you said. Am going to WV late May. They god some long 7% grades Oo.
