War of the Tailgates

'87 international dt466 engine trouble

It's probably made by a company called Kingsley Coach. They specialize in taking otr tractors, stretching the chassis and installing high end motorcoach bodies. They're pretty nice, and I believe they tend to be quite a bit cheaper than prevosts and other topend motorcoaches.

Eric, I think you'd have a bit of trouble finding a nice late model prevost for 220k. New they tend to go for highish 6 figures to low 7 figures. I'd rather have a nice Kingsley, like the one pictured. But then I'm a truck driver, so I'm biased. :)

I drove both trucks and busses, busses have one thing that has never worked on trucks, Air ride front suspensions, and they ride and drive considerably better

that converted truck probably rides pretty good since it is missing the hinge in the middle (no semi trailer) but its wheelbase is outrageously long

older prevost and eagle (also MCI) conversions run in the 200,000 range on ebay, I used to look all the time for laughs while eying the school busses I could actually afford

I don't doubt that trucks like this exist... . I have seen stuff similar to this before... . BUT this picture is horrible.

Matt. Your power of observation must be slipping a bit. You didn't see the vegetation reflected in the lower chrome? :) :)

I actually see what Matt was getting at in the first picture, and I know for a fact that in Photoshop you can simulate reflected stuff on chrome, but it is VERY difficult to master so it looks legit. A friend of mine is on the PlanetSide Universe forums, and they have "Photoshop of the Week" threads where the moderator posts a series of photos from the past weeks' news, and people take these photos and morph them, mix them, and come up with some really interesting stuff.

I think I am in Love!! but $220,000?? More than my house!! But I drive doubles for a living and if that truck was a Kenworth T-2000 it would be great.

The SUV's on page one is wierd, it just don't work. It;s like the pregnant rollerskate of the older hondas:-laf

I was day dreaming one time of getting a big truck and taking a 53' trailer and converting it into a RV. Get the moving van hauler that way you have storage already built in, just build a floor and start bombing!!! boy! a 75' semi RV cant get any better than that!!!

I think the vegetation reflection on the chrome was there in the original picture.

The truck was originally in the weeds - then they photoshopped it out of the weeds and put it on some astroturf with a very cheesy background.

You could buy/install a set of twins for the price of some of those RC-jets!!

I have two RC nitromethane hydroplanes (outboard engines)... ... maybe I should sell them for BOMBs. :D

Matt

the place where they build the coaches is only ten min. from my house. they are real just like in those pic and are big. built custom. the local trucking garage stretches the frames for them.

I bought both the boats with engines for $20. 00!!! Deal of the century!

I should get 'em running - rumor has it that they used to go almost 60mph.

Matt

I am almost positive it is a Kingsley Coach...

I have seen several of these, and the advantages of having one of these type trucks over a conventional RV, is the elimination of the motor over the rear, usually the Master bedroom... it is quieter, and there is more room, due to the fact that the motor compartment is up front. Plus, why not be ½ chicken hauler, ½ Recreational vehicle?? That's the way to go!
