now, the real comparisons can begin

got our new chevy durmaxes today with the allison trans. we now have the complete selection of psds, ctds, and chevy one tons. there is an interesting assortment of auto and 6 speed man configurations to our trucks. we use them for heavy towing only, [the only times that they are empty is on fridays, when we deadhead back home] ive been impressed with our 550 psd autos, but not the manuals. the chevys have by far the nicest rear seat accomodations, but we dont have any 4 door dodges yet. i cant wait to see how these chevys compare to our slightly bombed dodges and fords. we'll leave them stock for now, and y,all can be sure that any good or bad aspects of these duramaxes will be passed along. ithink the hp range of all makes of trucks should be comparable, if you can beleive what the aftermarket folks say. i'm pulling for my baby, [2001. 5 ho] and think she will hold her own with the chevys. past results have already proven her more than up to pulling with fords , better top end pulling and fuel economy, but we will have to see about these chevys... .
