Clutch Problems Assistance Requested

I talked with Peter at South Bend Clutch today. I just had to confirm my suspicions that the dealer was in left field. And Peter confirmed it.

To get to the point, I installed a MU 0087 con B clutch last April. The clutch has worked flawlessly! I have never had any problems with it, and it has not slipped with 450+ HP and 885 ft/lbs of torque.

During our talk he asked me which clutch I had. I told him. Peter then said, "I'm going to send you a new clutch and pressure plate". I asked why, and he said he wanted me to have it because it was better than the one I had. I told him that at my last dyno I was at 450 + HP. He didn't even flinch. He said that is fine. I asked, how much will I owe you, he said "nothing". I said, "Peter this is above and beyond customer service, there is nothing wrong with the clutch I have". Peter said that he appricated the support of TDR and that he had a better clutch for my application and felt that I should have the best!

Now I ask you, Is this a Vender we should support? YOU BET YOUR SWEET BIPPIE!! :D :D

South Bend Rocks!SOUTH BEND ROCKS!!

Thank you Peter! You guys are unbelievable! My hat is off to you and your company! God Bless You!:D

That is AWESOME customer service!

Hey Bob, someone else on this BB was extended the same customer support by South Bend Clutch. ____ _____ (name was purposely omitted as I did not check with the member first before posting this) purchased one of the earlier models and was contacted by Peter so he could provide him with a free upgrade for his Ram.

SouthBend & Piers is #1...

I posted in another thread about how I wish mine was here. Vaugn and Cliff received theirs and I ordered mine through Piers. Peter e-mailed me personally to make sure I wasn't overlooked. I explained to him I ordered mine thru Piers and he checked to make sure of its location. Then Piers called from somewhere in the states to let me know its with him. You guys are GREAT :D . Sam

When a company does good, this site is a perfect place to post the info. This is why when my clutch gives it up , I will be talking to Peter.

I'll be talkin' to Peter also when I can save up enough money for a clutch,, I emptied my wallet making ~400HP,, now I gotta save up so I can put the power down to the ground.

I'll be giving him a call one day soon. :)

you need it Merrick

As you drove out to leave from the rally, Bill, and Staf K. were betting each other if you would make it home with that clutch.

ROFL, I made it home with the clutch in a non-slipped manner.

He said to keep the RPM up to help the clutch. . I think that helped me.

So far I have only slipped it once on a 3-4 shift, at one of the many impromtu stop light drags... Gotta watch those speed limits in the city though...

I sure wish I could turn the COMP to Level 5, but the stock clutch will have none of that. Level 3 is pushing the stocker to the limit.

Maybe for my B-Day... . :) I'll be asking for cash donations :D LOL

Seems like there was quiet a bit of action on Sunday @ the LSTDR meeting.

Southbend is the best !

I to installed a Southbend clutch, the con-o .

I was told by Peter not to truck pull with it, well it held all the power I could throw at it. So what did I do . I entered a truck pull. Well after the smoke settled and getting wooped by 3 fords. I went home, with my head hanging low.

The truck slips in fourth now and I really don't have the money to buy another clutch. I'm screwed, and the wife is going to kill me.

Then I recieve an e-mail from Peter asking how the clutch is doing, so I tell him.

Then this very gracious man offers to send me another one, at NO CHARGE that's right NO CHARGE.

So what do you say to that , but Thank You Peter. Thank You.

I went out and distoryed a perfectly good clutch and the man offers to send me another. There are no words for that !

This is great costomer service.

Thank You, Southbend (Peter)

Peter and South Bend did me very well also!!! I had the MU 0087 Con. B first. It held fine but after backing my TT in my driveway after a long vacation, it had become unliveable. I got a hold of Peter willing to pay for a new clutch and I got the same offer. Peter said I'll just send you a clutch, which one do you want. It took me about a week to desided on the MU 0090 Con. O.

Peter ans South Bend are NUMBER 1 in my book!!!!!!

Thanks again Peter!!!!!

For you guys that will be attending the Tulare event in a few days, we are going to be able to meet Peter from SBC face to face. And from what he has told me. . he is bringing clutches!!!!

I wonder how many honey do's that I will have to complete before I can get my new clutch:D
