Collected up over 500 toys for the needy kids in the comunity and donated them to the caring center. Been doing it every year since the second year I was in the Corps. I use to put the dress Blues on and escort Santa to all the official small town gigs. The kids loved it! Santa would tell them that the Marines protect santa! I use to love that! Even when I was a kid believing in Santa, Dad would take me out to the store and we would buy a few toys for the firemans Christmas toy drive. I always felt good after doing that.

One year a kid told me he never went outside to play for weeks after Christmas because he didnt want to tell the other kids he didnt get anything. Another kid thought you got cans of soup, because thats all he ever got.

The frustrating part is the whole time these kids are telling you this, their parents are puffing on their 6th pack of cigarets that day.

Yeah, and the number of project cars keeps going up.

One kid I look out for had his father pretty much walk away, because Mike wasn't so bright. Hasn't spoken to Mike in years, but drives to Mike's siblings houses while Mike is there. I take Mike along anytme I figure I am going somewhere he would never see otherwise. He has driven 15,000 lb forklifts, seen blue herons up close(20'?), Figured out that turbo boost was not just some movie line, but a real guage in real vehicles, and figured out that water was not merely yards wide, and a few feet deep, but could be miles across and be deep enough for ships to pass.

Did ya know that a donut shop makes enough donuts to fill the back of a Ford Explorer in one shift? Same amount of donuts amazes the staff of an emergency room, heading into a 24 hour stretch of mayhem.

And trains are still cool under trees, kids are amazed.

After an illness we had to put Mom in a nursing home this fall. One of the things She had to pass the time was Her tv. A few days ago one of the "helpers" at the home, through some careless handeling pulled the coax connector out of the back of the set. They broke it, but, we gotta fix it, #ad
oh well. After 2 trips to Radio Shack and a Christmas eve repair session I was able to take Mom's repaired tv back to Her along with a Giant print Bible. She was very happy, and I slept really good last night. #ad

Chad, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! You've given happiness to many kids that wouldn't have otherwise had a merry Christmas. You are a true saint!

We gave gifts to our 11 month old daughter (first child) - a swing set and a ride around car. For our gifts to each other and to our famillies my wife quit her job when Sam was born to stay home and raise her. It hasn't been easy but 1000% worth it! This was the best christmas I've ever had and I don't even remember what I received to be honest. Seeing christmas through your child's eyes is the best christmas I could imagine!
