we switched the getrag out, and installed a new nv4500 from blumenthals in o. k. city, luk 12 @1/4 clutch... 500 h. p. clutch??? so tanner tells me... anyway, the dang clutch pedal acts like it cant engage the hydraulic cylinder assembly..... is there some more adjustments we were supposed to make , when we switched trannies? please tell me we dont have to pull the dash!!!! :--) we broke the new cylinder yesterday trying to increase the stroke on the clutch... any ideas out there?????anybody seen this fork in the road???? oh yea, same old 92 club cab, 12 v. with a new 4500... ... clutch pedal stroke was o. k. before we burned the getrag up towing it..... monte

I will tell you you dont have to pull the dash. Other than that, I thought the NV4500s came with their own master/slave assmeblies. A lot of sites I have seen are that way, anyway.

Does the Getrag have any useable parts? ;)

Clutch

Call Blumenthals, they are super helpful on the phone with problems. They will put on with a tech that actually works on them. R C

it did... the boys put hydraulic fluid in there instead of brake fluid. . i didnt know it till 2 weeks later and all the rubber parts had swollen up... therefore a new slave cylinder..... traded the getrag off already... ... m. w. w.

Had the same problem with mine after NV4500HD and new SB Con-O. I pulled everything apart to measure against the old - after Peter told me it was in clutch slave/master cylinder. I finalally solved the problem by installing a new Dodge clutch/MC set up - about $300. Has been great ever since.

have you squeezed in and let goed the slave about 20 times to get the air out. Did you make sure all the hyd oil is out of the system. If the master cylender rubbers were mush so are the slaves.

where did you get the clutch and m. c. for that price???? i am about convinced that, that may be the answer... . we have bled, tilted the truck for air to escape, squeezed, untill i want to scream... . its like a long way off... and ricky thought maybe we would have to adjust it from under the dash... . which ment we would have to pull the dash... . it has to be something easier... like i said, when we try to increase the stroke on the cylinder, we broke it(the new one) so we must be a way off, on the stroke. maybe there was still air in there, but daaaaannnnnggggg, we worked plenty long and hard on it... now what do you think?... ..... m. w. w.

now whats happening?

You dont commit about wether or not if your useing the advance adpter

nv4500 kit , or simular one if so

you have two issues happening

1. Did you cut down the bearing retainer as speced in the kit ,if wasnt done already. ?

2. The kit states to use the stock style clutch the 500HP is probally to still

for the geterag slave cyl and the mastercyl .

blumenthals already had the kit precut... explain more on #2. ..... i feel like it is in the clutch itself. the clutch was purchased somewheres else. thanks, as this is an ongoing job, and can only work when weather and workload permit... monte
