I always thought nozzles and injectors were just different words for the same thing (kinda like bucket and pail). Boy do I feel dumb now.

Ron

Just researched the topic. I now understand the difference. They were saying that some people will switch the nozzle and keep the body of the injector since a body is a body.

i prefer to have injectors if your are going to a bigger injector. Reason being the whole thing was assembled by the mfg. where the unit was tested as a whole. Nozzles you get them and put them on the injector bodies you already have then have to have them pop tested to asure they are with in tolerence. just easier in my eyes to by the whole thing from the vendor then it's a done deal.

ditto... .....

I've had alot of success with just nozzles in the vw diesel world. . changed a lot of them and never had a set pop tested and all worked great. I haven't tried it with a dodge yet but I suppose I would get similar results...

Just another way to look at it . .

Thanks,

Some people have good luck, some dont. I was one that didnt have good luck. Bought a set of the Jammer 4 nozzels. Had them swapped and pop tested by a local diesel shop. Checked out fine. After I installed them, I had a slight stumble at idle. Under throttle, it was fine, but it idled funny, almost like it had a semi agressive cam in it. after a couple months, I got sick of it. Pulled them out and put a set of full Sheids 90HP injectors in and the problem is gone. The thing is, most shops can pop test an injecotr, but almost none of them can flow test them. Most likely one of my injector bodies was fine at the stock level tip, but the oversized Jammer didnt play to well with it. Thats just my experiance.
