You know, along with guns and knives, we really ought to outlaw baseball bats and golf clubs while we're at it because they have killed people. Hockey sticks, too. Oh, and rocks. You never know when someone is going to throw a rock off an interstate overpass, so if rocks were outlawed, that would easily solve that problem, right? What about cars? Cars kill more people than guns and knives. We really ought to outlaw cars, all they do is pollute, anyway. In fact, let's make it illegal to be out in the sun, then no one would get skin cancer. People get killed from lightning strikes, bee stings, and falling off ladders. It's the government's fault for allowing these deaths to happen. They are responsible! Why isn't something being done about this?! The government is supposed to take care of us, isn't it?
The solution is simple: we need to pass more laws, lots of them. We need to outlaw everything that can possibly harm someone. This will solve everything, and we will have a perfect world!

Newsmax had a good point, knives and the NRA have nothing in common. But leave it to the media ("news"papers) to twist stuff around. Bad thing is, from what I have gathered, Newsmax is considered a radical, right wing extreme news site, or something to a similar effect. Too bad. When someone tries to corect the papers, they are labelled as extremists, trouble makers, etc. Like the NRA being responsible for the Coulmbine shootings. There was no way the NRA had a hand in that. Newsflash, it has been illegal to murder someone (or 13, for that matter) with a gun for about 400 years now. End of story. No number or extent of lawswill stop a criminal. Notice the similarity in the words CRIME and CRIMINAL? (To you double digit IQ'ed liberals who may read this). Crimes are against the law, so more laws will have no effect. ANd while on the subject, what is the deal on "assault weapons"? Can anything not be used for an assault? My fiancee, when we first started dating, was scared of guns, and violence in general, mostly because the houshold she grew up in was the model for a sheltered life. Now, I feel sorry for anyone who would try to break in on her. ANYTHING can be used for a weapon- pencils (in the eye or throat), lamps (thrown at the head), toolboxes, wrenches, Maglites, steel toed boots (on foot, or thrown), the list goes on and on, and she knows this now. I realize there is about a 10% chance of someone trying to break in while we are awake, but just in case..... My point is, since all the things I listetd, and many more, CAN be lethal, are we to outlaw them all? It makes no sense to me, but then again, I am a conservative, so I THINK; for myself upon occasion, and listen to Rush. (dont always agree with him, but that is not his point, he just wants the wheels to start rolling). How will disarming Joe Citizen make his household any safer? 100 years ago, this was a nonissue. But do anything slowly enough, and it will not get noticed. I realize I am preaching to the converted here, but I would get kicked off any liberal message board, because I am expressing an alternative idea, and proving them WRONG. And as we ALL know, liberals are ALWAYS right, and have your best interest in mind. Uh, sure, whatever you say. If I disagree, I am a I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER disturbing a$$hole with a single digit IQ who does not know what is good for him.

PS- And while on the subject of low IQs, I thought it implied that if one believed everything in the news, and took it for gospel, his/her IQ WAS in the single to low double digit range. So the few posts calling them dumbsh!ts, a$$holes, etc were a bit redundant, no?

Wow, I got partially quoted... I hope my IQ (never been scored) would be better than 2 digits, but, keep in mind, depending upon the pre-determined "correct" answer, a number is only as valuable as the evaluator wants it to be... Koko, the sign-language gorilla would have scored better, but gave "gorilla" answers, like "tree" rather than "house", which was "correct" for "where would you live?"

Simply put, "you missed the point". Orwell couldn't "write down" to the level of a 2-digit IQ scumbag. many of our so-called "reporters" are only "opinionators", and do, indeed pander to the dull-minded.
Anyone who falls into their trap, will have brought the resulting mess upon themselves.
