Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV 4500 busted!

Today was not a good day for me. I busted my NV4500 this morning 7am. Got rescued by the old faithful hopped up 96 12v 5sp with 325K no mech. failures yet!!! Company truck!! Worked all day on a gear box out of a SHRED-IT truck with broken shaft and gears. Pulled the truck in the shop @ 3:55 (boss wanted to hear CARNAGE)! Me and a buddy had the trans on the bench by 5:30, Only to see BROKEN GEARS what a day! 3rd has teeth missing off the countershaft and 3rd is screwed I'll have some pics soon. How many of you guys have had this happen? I thought this thing was close to bulletproof Now i'm in the process of finding parts.

I found a broken tooth on 3rd gear when I went in for the 5th/mainshaft upgrade. Dont know how long it ran that way. I did find the broken tooth in the bottom.

Well here is the damage I ordered all the new parts from Joe at Standard transmission. In the background is the other transmission buster! It broke 2 T-5's the exact same way and always third gear!! Now is has a TKO600 in it. Never thought my NV 4500 would do this though, since i never pull a trailer and still has an open rear. I'm gonna be a bit gunshy in the future when i spool third up. No matter what i'm driving. When it makes that horrible bang there's NO question what just happened:{
