NV 5600 fill plug size

[Bug Out]

What size is the fill plug wrench?. Looks like a large allen type wrench? I crawled under there yesterday to check the oil @ 10,000mi and saw it was not the old 3/8-1/2 drive square wrench.

17mm...



i use a 10mm nut and bolt welded together to take the plug out... cheaper than buying a 17mm allen key [standard 10mm hardware has a 17mm hex head]

JC Whitney (jcwhitney.com) sells a 17mm hex 3/8 drive socket for $2. 99 ea plus S&H (made for a VW transmission plug) that works great. Part number is either 144216 or 14AT4216B

In a pinch, just take about a 5/8" headed bolt and insert it in half way. Then use a wrench on the half sticking out to loosen er up.

I took a 5/8 in bolt, bent it 90 degrees filed on it some to fit the opening. Works great. No cost>
