Dont know it's maintenance history. From looking at the internals it seems to me the only way to kill one would be to set it up wrong in the beginning, it uses a myriad of shims to set preload, end play, etc. It is very strong looking, but it's weak link seems to be synchros and I saw one bushing that was scuffed, I think you can see it in one of the pictures. I'm glad I installed a filter on mine. That should catch the small abrasives.
