Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) NV241D Fluid Capacity

I wanted to make sure that the transfer case took less than 3 qts. Filling up with amsoil ATF+4



Can anyone verify it takes less than 3 qts?

Erik, you ask about NV241D Fluid Capacity. It depends on whether it is NV241LD or NV241HD. The ID plate on the rear of the case will tell you which you have. The LD case takes 5 pints, and the HD 6. 5 pints. Both are filled to the bottom of the fill plug hole when the vehicle is level. My references are the 1998 shop manual at pages 21-331 and 21-360.
