NV4500 4x2 to 4x4?

If I was to slap a NV4500 in my first gen 4x4, Could I use a cast tail shaft housing from quad 4x4 to change the 4x2 to fit my 4x4 or is the tail shaft going to be different and prevent it from connecting to my 4x4 transfer case? You would have to ask Dan himself on that one... . Dan is very knowledgeable

on the 4500 conversions... I worked with him on my G360 to NV4500 conversion

just recently... . top shelf... best advise that I got during my

whole conversion process was from Dan at QUad 4X4

The housing swap should be doable, but that’s not where the problem lies. The main shafts are different. One is longer than the other, not sure which, and the 4 by is splined to the end for the transfer case coupler. While the 2 by is threaded so the yoke can be bolted on. I’m pretty sure this is the case, so most likely you will have to replace the mainshaft or find a 4 by NV4500. Sorry to ruin your new years.
