Lent my 95 Ram to my brother yesterday. He said it was a bit hard to go into 2nd and reverse. Today, he was using it, stopped truck and when he started it to leave, he could not get it into any gear.
With engine running, can not get it to go into any gear. With engine stopped, will go into any gear. If you start it in 2nd or reverse, (clutch depressed) the truck starts and lurches as the starter motor turns. The pilot bearing, clutch, pressure plate, input shaft and bearings as well as a fully splined mainshaft was done about 1 3/4 years ago.
What are the signs/symptions of failed master/slave cylinder? And a way to check them. Could it be broken pressure plate bolts. I limped the truck home by starting off in 3rd, shifting to 4th was moderately hard. There is no noise such as grinding or growling at any time The master cyl is full of oil. It took about a cup of $$$$Mopar trans oil to full nv4500 up so that oil was leaking out the fill/bung plug hole.
