My NV4500 is leaking fluid it’s coming from between the bell housing and the transmission I don’t think it leaking from the input shaft because my clutch is holding fine even when the comp is on 5x5 so I’m guessing the leak is coming from below the input shaft there a cap that looks like a frost plug. Any of you guy have the same problem is it a big deal to fix any input would be great.

Thanks

Kris

They are like a frost plug but without a shoulder on them. Maybee an eigth of an inch thick and dished. When they get pressed in they flatten and grow in diameter to seal. I always put some permatex sealant on them. I have never done a 4500 so I dont know if they install from the inside or outside. It seals the bore of the counter shaft front bearing. Jake

actually it probably is the front seal. the nose piece has a small weep hole in the bottom of it, so if fliud was to leak it doesnt have to migrate all the way out to the end and wet down the clutch.
