Willyslover ... yes I am aware now after reading many posts. Also I have received a response from Amsoil about the demise of the Series 2000 gear oil. Amsoil replaced this gear lube with their new Sever Gear Extream Presure (EP) SVG 75w-90 oil which is a GL-5 rated oil, below is the response from Amsoil. I will be using Syntorc from now on but Amsoil in everything else.
Anyone using Amsoil now in their 4500 should read THIS before their next transmission fluid change.

Thank you for contacting AMSOIL with your concerns.
In response to your inquiry, AMSOIL Synthetic Severe Gear 75W90 Gear Lube (SVG) does replace AMSOIL Series 2000 75W90 Synthetic Gear Lube (TGR). However, TGR was rated GL-2 through GL-5 and SVG is straight GL-5 only, so we are not recommending SVG for anything but GL-5 applications.
In applications such as this that request an API GL-4 rated gear lube, we suggest the use of our AMSOIL Synthetic 80W90 Gear Lube (AGT).
AMSOIL Synthetic 80W90 Gear Lube (AGT) is sold in gallon size containers and larger. If more convenient, our AMSOIL Synthetic 80W90 Lower Unit Gear Lube (ALU) may also be used. It is available in smaller containers including quarts. It may be used in any application that AGT is used in. These are both straight GL-4 products.
Thank you again for the opportunity to respond to your concerns. As always, please feel free to contact us again if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Jim Van
