Had 300K on my 96 when traded, changed to Amsoil Series 2 75/90 at 20K.
5th gr. nut came off twice, last time had it spot welded on. Changed lube when nut came off, don't rem. miles.
No problems.
These were hard used miles too, w/GV splitter w/same lube in it.

Factory Fill till 35K, changed stayed with Mopar currently 47K, no problems. However, I do have a viberation sound in 5th when towing at regular rpms, (60 to 72mph)is this fifth gear going south or is this normal or the clutch? Suggestions? Thx.

Idg
From what I've read on this site, that very well could be the 1st symptom of the 5th gear starting to back off. Apparently it 1st gets cocked on the shaft & then backs off as it pushes the nut off. There is a TON of info here on this. . Do a search & you'll be swamped w/ info. Good Luck!

42k miles on factory oil
5th gear went out, but that's not an oil problem.
Dealership performed repair and refilled trans.
Now 75k miles with no problem.
