NV4500 oil

What’s everyone using for NV4500 oil now ? Called the local dodge dealer and no more Castrol syntorq available they tried to to sell me atf4 . Called another place and they did sell me royal purple 7590 the bottle says yellow metal safe and gl-5 gl-4 compatible . I’ve tried about every other kind of oil in these things and never had any luck with anything but the Castrol no matter how much or how little it cost.

Did you try a GM dealer? They also sell the correct oil because they used the NV4500 for awhile too. Not long ago I googled the GM part number and found it on line. If you still have the decals on the PTO covers it lists the GM number.

Personally, I'd go with the Amsoil Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90, used to be called MTG.

In TDR33, p. 17 I reported tests of different lube oils in the NV4500. I settled on Torco RTF and used it ever since in all my manual transmissions.
