NV4500 Shift Tower Question

Does anyone know if you can swap shift towers from a 96' nv4500 to a 98+ nv4500 as I know the sticks are different for one. . any other differences between them at the top?

I have read on earlier post that this can be done. The 98+ shifter has a shorter throw than your current shifter top. Many people are happy by doing only this change and not adding the short throw shifter kit.

Yeah we found out that the swap is straight forward... . one top for another. The later model shifter is WAY shorter throw than my 96 NV4500 was, but I am still going to add the short throw shifter in.
