NV4500 short throw

I just bought my 98 and up top cover and am in the middle of machining a short throw kit for it. Noone posted the dimensions of the spacer so i guessed from seeing the pictures and I am making it approximately 22mm thick and then of course extending the shift linkage the same distance. I am hoping it isnt too much but still makes a difference.

I have the spacer machined out already. Since noone knows the exact dimensions i went ahead and made it double the size of the stock rubber spacer, which ended up being about 22mm. That looked about right from the pictures i thought. I will keep you posted.

I've got it done, well, i hope anyways. We'll see if it works or not. My truck is down for a while from deer damage, so i wont get to put it in for a while, but i can snap some pics of it. Don't know how to put them in a post but i can e-mail them to you guys if you still want to see.

dang, I know the feeling though. My truck is down for a while also. In the body shop from a deer hit. As soon as i get mine back, i gotta pull the trans and put the newer top cover on and try out my short throw that i built.
