Competition NV4500 strength

I'm thinking of doing a 12 valve conversion to my 1984 GMC one ton and getting away from my 496 big block... and I'm sure my TH400 won't stand up to the Cummins. How much power can I put through a NV4500 manual and what modifications should I do to it to make it live? I'm thinking of going sled pulling with this truck. Oo. Oo. Oo.

PM BigBadDodge he has been sledpulling with the 4500 and he knows the weak points. Input shaft and 5th gear are two you may have to deal with in the future of upgrading.
