Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) nv4500 to 5600 swap, shifter question??

The kit I have included a new shifter knob, and stick. The end that goes in the trans from the 4500 is square shaped and it looks like it should be ball shaped for the the 5600. Anyone done the swap?? Any help would be great. Karl

The 5600 takes the round shaft input like you described. I have the original out of mine from when I put in the BD short shift kit. If you need one you might look there at BD and buy a short shift kit.

Karl, Chris Harlan did the swap as well. Gonna be able to use the new clutch from the 4500, with the 5600?

I already had the a 13" con SB clutch, so I just had to get a 1 3/8 disk instead of a 1 1/4. Any other ideas on the shifter??

Well same as above, I have mine also if you need it since I put on Short Shifter. Not sure what else to tell ya... ... ... sorry.

Well I bought the kit from Standard in Fort Worth, TX. Checked with a couple others that sell the kit also and was told they include the shifter. So I have a call into Standard and I guess I will see what they say this morning. Thanks for the offers, I appreciate it. I will let you know. Karl

Standard just told me they will next day air me a shifter for a 5600. So on with the swap. Karl
