Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV4500 to NV5600 Swap??

Could not find an answer doing searches - someone else asked the same question, no definite answer.



My clutch took a crap - in many pieces



I can spend $1200 on a new SB clutch and upgrage to the 13" discs or I could find a NV5600 that already has a 13" clutch out of a wrecked truck for $1500~$2000 and swap that in.



Is the swap possible - does it bolt up? Same shaft size/spline count? Will my x-fer case bolt up? Will I have to modify driveshafts?



It seems worth it to me if it is possible and if I can find a used 5600.

I know...

people on here have done the 5 to 6 speed swap. I don't remember the details. I don't know that I would go with the used clutch as part of the swap... .

Unless you can find an NV5600 that was connected to a SO engine (1999-2000 I think), the input shaft of the NV5600 from an HO truck is larger than the NV4500, but I understand it can be done.
