ok guys I need to convert my 5 speed getrag 2 wheel drive , to a 4x4 !!!

my ??? I want to go with a nv4500 , is the 205 xcase from the getrag the only 205 I can use ??? IN the 4 sale post s i see a 205 from a ford bolted up to a nv4500 ?? any body got more INFO ?? thanks loco one !!

How about using a Gm NV4500 with a Dodge input shaft and retainer? Then use a Gm 205(These are more common). Advance Adapters can make a NV4500 bolt to almost anything, try looking at their website.

Its my impression that the ford front drive shaft output is on the "other" side compaired to Chev, Dodge. I think that Desertrat is correct in his thoughts on the Chevy NV is easy to find.

What is the size of the shafts though on the GM nv 4500? Reason I ask is it has been found that the auto 205 has a smaller input shaft spine size then the ones behind a getrag. Stands to reason that the manual trans diesels needed the bigger shaft due to torque. I bet, just bet that the nv 4500 gm version might not be as heavy as the diesel version. I am sure there is two differnt application of nv4500's.

Don't take any of this as "gospel" except the diff between auto and manual diesel 205's in the first gen dodges. I just want you to find out before you go and buy a bunch of stuff.
