I recently did the NV 4500 coversion on my 1993 D350 CC LB .

I did the clutch flywheel,new drive lines , joints the works , rear end !!!

was up on the rack for new shocks ... and found gear oil leaking form bellhouseing an rear seal!!!! is this a common problem with these trannies????

this is all brand new parts no used ones!!!! have just under 2300 miles on it !!!!

Is it motor oil coming from the bell housing or gear oil? Or, is it gear oil coming from the seal in the tailhousing?



I replaced my rear crank seal when I did my conversion. EVERYONE made sure that I had the crankshaft and the seal totally dry upon assembly. I also had a problem with drive shaft length which caused failure of the seal in the tailhousing of the transmission.



No leaks are normal. Just need to figure out what's leaking from where?

yeah its gear oil ... not motor oil... truck had 118k on it when it was converted

If it's coming out of the slot between the bell housing and the engine then I'd say your looking at an input shaft seal. Looks like your going to be pulling it back out. Sorry for your luck.

Well as it turns out ... its only the rear seal on tail shaft . . running down to bell houseing & speedo sending unit leaking also . . they have told me they will fix it all. . its under warranty

That seal is simple to R&R.
