Same issues for me... primarily reverse and second/third gears as well. Brand new SB DD Ceramic installed 1k miles ago at 24k... . installation was quite easy and straightforward, performed by myself with help of Mark and Rick Smith at Dave's Diesel in Angola. Holding pedal in for 10-15 extra seconds seems to help sometimes; however, I am starting to wonder about the extra shim that SB has you install behind the pivot ball on the clutch fork. I wonder if it's not thick enough sometimes...

Stricly theoretical idea of mine, but it makes me feel like I don't have enough force on the clutch to fully disengage it, which might lead to some of the issues that I am seeing... .

Another thing that seems to support this completly theoretical idea of mine is that clutch engages further down the pedal stroke (when compared to stock or single disc setup trucks that I've driven). So far I've been too busy with work to look at it... but it's getting quite annoying. I feel like I'm going to tear up my transmission if I keep

Otherwise, clutch makes me happy!

Have you noticed more pedal pressure is required with the OFE over what you replaced?

Yeah, a little bit. Nothing of consequence though.

I would hope an OFE can hold 443 HP!!!:-laf

Yeah, I know, it only makes me happy because the stocker gave up so easily. Besides, this might be a good data point for a Noobie someday.

100 Proof

I have 2003 and I had a SB CON FE, reverse was always a problem even with stock clutch and first is hard but I rarely use first. 2ND I have no problem with. Now I have SB DD360012CB and its the same as above. To get into reverse I put it in 2nd and let the clutch out quick and back in and go to reverse and no prob then. Think it just the 6SPD syncros in general. Have 320,000KM on the transmission!

A couple days ago I absolutely could not get into reverse without hitting another gear first. I have a SBC con ofe on the way. Today the truck was perfect. I guess I just have to threaten it once in a while.

Doing the ball bearing pilot cured my problem. It's been almost a year and I haven't had any more issues. It easily goes into gear hot, warm or cold.

I had my clutch go out on my 03 3500. I put in a new one, a hole clutch kit. Put the clutch back in had no paddle and the throwout bearing started to make a nosies. Was hard to change gears too. I got a new throwout bearing and put it back in. Had good clutch, changed good, but still had nosie when in nutral. Could push in clutch and the nosie would go away. I put in another throwout bearing but this time it was a factory one. Soon as I started the truck had nosie in it in nutral. I was going to pull the trans one more time, but this time I got a new Shaft that the throwout bearing go's on, then a new fork, new throwout bearing, new clutch and presure plate, and a new pilet bearing. Got it all in and everything is good. No nosie in nutral changes easy. I don't know what was that fixed the problem. Hope this might save someone the pain that I have went throu.

What brand of clutch did you use both times?
