Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I've got an NV5600 with almost 9000 on it, and I find it difficult to get into 3rd gear when downshifting. It seems better if I am sure I'm below 20 MPH before going for 3rd.

Also, I find it very "notchy" going into 3rd at al times (upshift or downshift).

Don't worry. When you get 15k or so it will get smoother. Mine did the same thing. It takes awhile to break it in.

Thanks! It's amazing how many little things can keep you up at night wondering if somethings wrong with your baby!

Have had similar shifting problems with mine. Put it down to two things; new tranmission and operator error. Mine at present it is shifting alot smoother. The operator is getting more experienced and so is the transmission. :D Pete

I have some problems with 3rd gear occasionally.

When others have driven my truck they have never had a problem with 3rd, they seem to have trouble with 5th, with me 5th is never a problem.

Perhaps we just need more break in time and perhaps it is the way we move our arms when we shift?

I'm getting better at shifting mine but I think the shift in general kinda SUCKS. Driven sticks on and off all my life from late 60 to early 70 hotrods, wreckers, farm equipment etc. This is the worst shifting thing I ever drove except a worn out tractor. It is getting better and me also but I expected a little better. Once in a while I still end up in a Wont move into a gear cant find it never never land.
