I need to get my 6 speed looked at, I have a good feeling 1st and R are going to be welded together soon. Does anyone know a place in AZ to get my NV5600 looked at by someone who knows kinda what we do to these trucks??

Thanks

I would try Fred Swanson with Desert Diesel. He's in the Phoenix area and when he did my Kore setup he had some 6 speeds he was working on. I've got the number and if you want I can send you a PM with it.

How many miles do you have on it? I am kind of surprised at problems already. O. K. maybe not. How much H. P. ?

Well, 1st and reverse you have to slam it (and i mean slam it) in gear, second gear is getting stickey, and about 50% of the time when i am on it and I shift into 4th its like a hit a brick wall and it dont go in gear, dont grind, nuttin

Does anyone know about that phoenix transmission place?? They quoted me a price of 2500 for a rebuild, they said there was no "updates" from NV as far as issues or anything. Nothing personal about this place, but i dont just like to take my transmission to anyone and say "here rebuild it" and give them a bunch of money. I know when dealing with this you need a good gear person.

So if anyone has any experience or feedback it would be appricated.

No experience with them, but when I was troubleshooting my transmission problem (which turned out to be nothing... long story) I talked to a couple different heavy duty transmission shops and they all basically said that it is usually cheaper to just get a rebuilt transmission and give them your core, because you will pay a lot more in labor for them to tear it apart and _look_ for a problem then you would if they are just rebuilding it. $1900 for a rebuilt from re-trans is a pretty good deal... they are $3800 - $4800 canadian where I live.

I'm up in Kingman and I ran into the same issue a few time. I've had to rebuild my 5600 twice on my '00 and '03. What I did is found someone to pull the transmission, threw it on a small pallet and for $89 I shipped it to Standard transmission to rebuild. Took a few extra days but At least I know the rebuild was done right.
