I am stuck with this truck and tired of spending money on trannies i am ready to spend money on twin turbos but i made the mistake of searching high and low for 04. 5 with fully load quad cab long bed drw with a 48RE so i could use the truck for back to back pulling among other uses. well B2B pullin hasnt been done yet and is out of interest now. I'm gonna **** off a few folks when i say this but I'm thinkin bout ebaying or scrap metalling my 48re for a NV5600. the reliability on these things is amazing. anyone made the conversion from 48re to NV5600 yet??? what parts are needed and about how much $$$ provided you have a nv5600 for going cheap. I want a OEM look and function but keep my truck. anyone out there have a 2004. 5 ram that can give me the last 9 digits of there vin so the dealer can pull up parts i need including wiring harnesses, steering columns, crossmembers, the plate and gasket that goes on the floorboard, computers, driveshafts, sensors, clutch pedal, clutch related brackets, instrument cluster????, shifter, adapters for cummins to nv5600, is there a difference in parking brakes??? not interested in another truck i am stuck with this one. let me know what all is involved i am after oem appearance and quality. overtime i feel this mod will pay for itself in savings on 48re repairs and high maintenance and cost associated of a owning a automatic transmission. right now i am going on my 5th 48re in this truck and just hit 70K 2speeds wasnt getting me far and egts were soaring so i pulled it and tore it down aint pretty inside, race prepped my butt.
