Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV5600 Transmission oil filer

This morning I added an Eaton Truck Components/Fuller Transmission Oil Filter (Eaton Part #11456), which I ordered from Geno's for $29. 95, to the NV5600 and approximately 4. 3 quarts of AMSOIL Series 3000 5W-30 Synthetic oil. Initial driving impressions are the transmission shifts are smoother as I ran through the gears, all six of them! Installation of the manual transmission oil filter went smooth and took all of 30 minutes to do it all. The most time consuming effort was the removal of the factory transmission plate. I reused the factory bolts, there was nothing wrong with them on inspection and torqued the new plate/oil filter in place.



Give me a few days and I will have further information on how I like the AMSOIL Series 3000 5W-30 oil in my NV5600.

Yep you're right it is a good thing to have on there. But, if you used the cork gasket like I did, it'll start seeping oil. The thing to do is to use black silicone adhesive as a sealer and no gaskets.

I used the supplied gaskets with my kit and I haven't had any leaking or seeping yet. Granted, I only put around 10,000 miles on it over the last year since it was installed, but so far so good. I've been thinking about changing the filter and fluid again even though it's low miles. I figure the first filter will clean everything up and then the second one should last three years or so given my low annual mileage.
