I just drove from Alaska to Colorado and am about to leave for my final destination of Arizona towing a 14' trailer weighing just under 7000 pounds. I have my Edge attitude set to display the transmission temperature and noticed that if I ran in 6th gear my temp would reach almost 190 before I chose to slow down to where I could run in 5th. 5th gear at 65 mph turned the engine at 2500 rpm but the transmission temp dropped by nearly 40 degrees. Is 190 too hot for that transmission? Will I do damage by towing in 6th with such a light trailer? I tried turning the Juice module down to stock to see if that would help the transmission temp but all the other temps went up without making any difference in the transmission temp. I ran the module on level 2 most of the 3500 mile trip.

for a stock transmission that would be about right. I have the fast coolers which adds 1 qt capacity and then you stuff some more in like 1 more qt. to do this, I ran the left wheels up on blocks after it came out when level. I tow a 36' toyhauler + a utility trailer up a steep grade at 210 max. Also get more of a quality fluid like Amsoil. all this will lower the temps.
