Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) nv5600

Ive been told by a friend that my nv5600 has the same problem as the 5 speed for the fith gear nut falling off. Im about to yank it out and put in a south bend so it would be a good time to fix it if its true?

The "nut" is on the the front of the 5600, so it doesn't have the tendency to work it's way loose

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. Isn't a problem on the 5600. I'm glad I got the 6-speed. Only driveline issues I've had with my '02 is a severely cracked U joint.

be sure to check your fluid level regular... mine was low and I didn't have any leaks... getting rebuilt right now and the newer 02 synchros and gears so they should be smoother shifting.
