Supposed to be quite a bit of difficulty at the refinerys in the NW. I understand there are two of them down for the change to low sulfer and one had a failure and will be down a while for repairs.

We have been under 2. 00/gal here in MO for a while now, but I expect that to change quickly. With the shortage of fuel oil and propane, they are going to jack up the price of diesel as well.

This is simply ridiculous. I don't know that there is anything we can do, but there has to be a limit somewhere. Part of the reason I went to diesel was the price of fuel compared to gasoline. Now that seems to be lost.

So what about it guys... what can we do?

Pretty much everything I saw over the weekend was $2. 39 - $2. 55. However I lucked out and found $2. 080 at a small station in the little town of Fairfield Washington (3 blocks from NW Custom). (note $2. 080 not $2. 089).

WHAT? Two point zero eight EVEN? No nine-tenths of a penny? That station owner will be lynched by the Gas Station Owner's Union.

I vowed years ago that if I ever owned a gas station I would not tack 9/10 of a penny on to my gas prices. It's such a mind game.

In USA Today they are now blaming the slip of the dollar

by over 25% resulting in a huge devaluation of purchasing thus raising the cost of fuel significantly... ... .

Watching prices skyrocket has been very painful. I went a couple of weeks without fueling up and absolutely went into shock when I saw the prices. Up to $2. 67 here in some places. Can't find it anywhere under $2. 60. Cost me $66 to fill up the other day. On the positive side, if I'd bought a V-10 gasser, (which I would need to pull my 5er) I'd probably be spending as much or more primarily due to fuel economy. Get twice the mileage when towing and probably close to that running empty. Still hurts to stop at the pump. I'm driving my wife's car as much as I can and hope the prices come down.

My usual watering hole was selling diesel for $2. 089 today, fortunately I decided to shop around. I go 5 miles down the road and it's selling for $1. 899, 19 cents cheaper.

No intention of rubbing it in on you NW guys, you have my condolences.

MY wife just paid $2. 65 a Gallon in Camas Safeway west of Vancouver. Regular unlead was $1. 99, that $. 65 a gallon premium. the Wallstreet jornal new prices was only $0. 24 a gallon whole difference between the two products.
